The right to vote is one that did not come easily to people of color, especially Black people. And ever since we received it, we've had to fight voter suppression tactics such as poll taxes, literacy tests, voter roll purges, and even violence and death to cast our ballot. We are now in the midst of the most critical election of our lifetime, both locally and nationally, and it is imperative that we lift our voice and lift our vote to effect the change we want to see in our communities!
Join us Saturday, October 24th, 12:00PM - 3:00PM at Ashé Cultural Arts Center (1712 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd) for a voter rally and an opportunity to register for our collective Bike/Walk in the Vote on October 27th.
We will gather outside - safe, socially distanced, and masked up - for 3 hours of live performances, African drumming, music by DJ Wop, valuable voter resources and information from Black community leaders, and light refreshments.
