SIDE BY SIDE

Connect, Create, and Cultivate… Side by SidE!

What is Side by Side?

Ashé Cultural Arts Center’s Side by Side Artist Program was an initiative developed post Hurricane Katrina as a way for visual artists and culture bearers to find resources and establish connections with other creatives. Ashé Cultural Arts Center played a significant role during this time, being a pillar of support and service to the cultural and artistic communities.

While creating opportunities for visual artists and culture bearers to showcase their works and talents, Ashé was able to collaborate with professionals and other organizations to generate a larger impact on the general public through art and culture. Today, the Side by Side Artist Program continues to encourage visual artists and culture bearers to flourish within their craft, cultivate the groundwork for posterity, and bestow creativity and historical traditions within both regional and national networks.
