About Ja’nese : She is a native of Lafayette, La moved to New Orleans, La in 1999 to attend Dillard University, where she started her dance career. Ja’nese has developed a unique and effective teaching style in the past 18 years of teaching and performing a variety of dances of the African Diaspora. Her teaching goes beyond technique to share a deep understanding of music, movement, and culture with students and dancers at all levels of dance experience. Ja’nese dance is shaped by her African Traditional Religion beliefs along with her studies and travels. Her extensive dance training began in New Orleans, La. where she is truly Grateful for numerous mentors and Dance instructors. Ja’nese is committed to encouraging dialogue among cultural communities through dance, with grade school students, dancers and non-dancers. Within the past three years, Ja’nese has been performing and studying Burlesque Dance in the greater New Orleans area; which led to her co-creating and hosting her highly anticipated quarterly event called “Moanin at Midnight with moon.” My intention is to encourage you to experience a rebirth by focusing on releasing and reclaiming sacred energy and pleasure through the art of burlesque and kink so that you can feel more confident and empowered to honor your true desires and pleasures.”
Ja’nese is the co-founder of AYA Designs LLC (fashion and costume design co.). Ja’nese also is an Certified Teaching Artist in residence in Orleans & Jefferson Parish schools, and an active Arts Integration Specialist for Young Audiences of Louisiana. The job that is the most rewarding for Ja’nese is being the mother of three beautiful daughters.
