This week we'll be joined in the Ashé Cafe by Kesha McKey, Founder/Artistic Director of KM Dance Project and Chair of Dance at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts.
Kesha has been an integral part of the Ashé family for over a decade as the coordinator for the Kuumba Academy and as both performer and director of Origin of Life on Earth and the Vagina Monologues .
We'll be discussing her story in dance and Black health and wellness. We'll also be discussing reproductive justice in light of the upcoming Supreme Court decision and the implications for Black families, Black relationships, and Black art. We'll also be discussing HeArt, Ashé's initiative that asks artists of color to interrogate their work and its roots in patriarchy and toxic masculinity.
