King and Queen Emporium | 2500 Bayou Rd. NOLA
Meet us at King & Queen Emporium International for a 2-day Spiritual Healing and Health Fair hosted by Ashé Cultural Arts Center’s Community Spread - Community Health Worker Initiative (CHWs).
Community Spread Health Fair will include COVID vaccinations, health screenings, counseling services, and a special tribute to Mahalia Jackson on what would have been her 110th birthday! Musical selections provided by vocalist Andaiye Alimayu of Zion Trinity, poet Sunni Patterson, and pianist Kyle Roussel.
The medical field and healthcare has a long history of mistreating Black Americans. Community Spread is OUR approach to fighting racism in the healthcare industry. Community Health Workers (CHWs) are local artists, musicians, and culture bearers who have been trained in maternal and child health, mental health, violence prevention, reproductive justice, wellness coaching, and economic empowerment. Come meet our Community Spread team for a weekend of wellness and celebration!
