Sistahs Making a Change is hosting a special community dance class led by Bombazo Dance Company!

Join us at Ashé Friday, March 24 at 7pm for a beginner’s level Bomba class and experience this unique Puerto Rican music genre and dance in which the dancer guides the rhythm and tempo of the drums. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn new moves while honoring the traditions and power of the enslaved African who were brought to Puerto Rico.

Bombazo Dance Company is a drum and dance company whose mission is to preserve, educate and showcase traditional Afro Puerto Rican Bomba and Afro Caribbean and traditional folkloric elements. The word “Bombazo” signifies a Bomba jam. It is where the community gathers to celebrate life through its rhythms, song and dance.
