In a city where the scars of racism and inequity run deep, we find power in healing — together. Join us for Healing Through Unity, a powerful evening of dialogue and action for National Day of Racial Healing, co-hosted by Ashé Cultural Arts Center and New Orleans National Vodou Day.
Healing Through Unity is a special opportunity to witness the transformative power of authentic conversation. For Ashé and New Orleans National Vodou Day, the road to racial healing hasn’t always been smooth — but it has been deeply necessary. We’ll share our journey of moving from adversaries to allies, rooted in vulnerability, discomfort, and the commitment to repairing the harm of racism.
Together with Taproot Earth, a global leader in facilitating uncomfortable conversations, and the inspirational voices of the Plessy and Ferguson Initiative, who exemplify the work of intergenerational racial healing, we’ll explore how healing can take root even in places and relationships where it seemed impossible.
This Town Hall will speak directly to the heart of who we are and who we are becoming as a city. It's an invitation to engage in the type of healing that transforms not just individuals, but communities and systems. The event will address the urgent need for racial healing in our times and offer actionable steps to move us toward racial equity.
