INSTITUTE FOR
CULTURAL EDUCATION

“When an environment celebrates a child’s culture, it helps develop the child’s sense of ‘belonging, being and becoming.’ ”

- Freddi W. Evans,

An initiative of Ashé Cultural Arts Center, INCUED provides workshops for teachers, as well as parents and children, that enhance the growth and overall development of young learners. The workshops promote the integration of culture into educational curriculums and use it to propel students to achieve and maximize their potential. The process incorporates unpacking the concept of culture, strengthening teaching skills and engaging educators in best teaching practices. INCUED provides expert faculty members and stellar scholarship, as well as on-going engagement and support to educators through Community of Practice meetings, classroom demonstrations, and quarterly INCUED Newsletters.
