Join us Thursday, October 21 for the opening session of Imagining America's 2021 National Gathering as we kick off two days of programming on the ways we shape and are shaped by water. Our journey begins at the headwaters as we consider water’s pathways through our lives and work, how communities are mobilizing locally and nationally to reimagine and redesign our water systems, and opportunities for building a cultural front in the movement for water equity. Dr. Michael Marchand, former chairman of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, will open this space with a water story, followed by welcoming remarks by Gathering hosts Imagining America along with
Asali DeVan Ecclesiastes, Chief Executive Officer at Ashé Cultural Arts Center, Tulane University, and a grounding in place by Geneva Lebeouf, member of the Pointe-au-Chien Indian Tribe.
Don't miss Ashé's Chief Creative Officer and IA National Advisory Board Member, Frederick “Wood” Delahoussaye guest speaking on Friday, October 22.
The 2021 National Gathering is organized in partnership with the Ashé Cultural Arts Center, Tulane University, and members of the 2020-22 National Gathering New Orleans Steering Committee.
