Love in the Time of Fentanyl

  • 17131 Baronne Street New Orleans, LA 70113 (map)

Join us for our first Reel Talk film screening of the year! Love in the Time of Fentanyl is an intimate documentary that looks beyond the stigma of injection drug users as it shares the story of the Overdose Prevention Society — a renegade safe injection site that employs current or former drug users. Its staff and volunteers save lives and give hope to a marginalized community in Vancouver, Canada ravaged by fentanyl deaths.

The Reel Talk screening of Love in the Time of Fentanyl is presented in partnership with Indie Lens Pop-Up, a neighborhood series that brings people together — virtually and in person — for film screenings and community-driven conversations. Featuring documentaries seen on PBS's INDEPENDENT LENS, Indie Lens Pop-Up draws local residents, leaders, and organizations together to discuss what matters most, from newsworthy topics, to family and community relationships. Make friends, share stories, and join the conversation. For more information, visit pbs.org/independentlens/indie-lens-pop-up

Stay with us for the talk back featuring a conversation between advocates within the New Orleans community!
